I obtained a Laurea with summa cum laude from La Sapienza University (Rome) in 1991 and a Ph.D. from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (Geneva) in 1996.
Between 1996 and 2000 I spent three semesters at Harvard University (Cambridge, MA) as visiting fellow and two years at the London School of Economics as a Marie Curie post-doctoral fellow.
In 2002 I have passed the concours national d’agrégation (France) and have been appointed professor (professeur 2ème classe). In 2009 I have been promoted to professeur 1ère classe as the result of a national competitive selection procedure.
From 1996 to date I have been consultant on occasional bases for the WTO, the OECD, the European Commission, the UNCTAD, and the Inter-American Development Bank. I served as member of the jury for the concours national d’agrégation in 2005-2006.
I am currently responsible for the international relations of Aix-Marseille School of Economics.
